Also I'd like to add a clarification on the rules related to points awarded for contests. Last week I made a ruling for shootouts since a shootout had occurred, my ruling is that shootouts don't count. Most leagues don't play shootouts, and shootouts aren't the same as two teams playing hockey, so I've decided they don't count. It was also brought to my attention that the CCHA (which is the league that uses shootouts) also uses a different point system than the other leagues ( http://www.annarbor.com/sports/ccha-rules-change-rewards-teams-for-winning-in-regulation-overtime/ ) which rewards 3 points for a non-shootout win and 2-points for a shootout win. To keep everything fair between the multiple college hockey leagues, much in line with my previous ruling against shootouts, this point system will NOT be used in awarding contest points in Gimble Hockey. In our league, every win will be 2 points, every tie will be 1 point, and every loss will be 0 points, and no shootouts will be counted. When tournament time appears later in the season and we allow picks for these games, we will still count multiple-overtime wins as a win, and multiple-overtime losses as a loss, since they are indeed playing hockey against each other in these multiple overtimes.
