All Gimble Hockey Tournament points will reset in between each round, placing all teams on equal footing at the start of each of the 3 rounds in the tournament. However, your seed at the start of the tournament will follow your team throughout the entire tournament, and this seed will be the tie-breaker in all cases.

Ok folks, it's time for the Championship Tournament. If you can't already tell, I'm kinda making this up as I go so please report any potential issues you see with how this is going down! The Championship Tournament will be 3 rounds:In the first round, 1 team will be eliminated. In case of a tie the lowest seed of the lowest points will be dropped. In the second round, 2 more teams will be eliminated, again in the case of a tie we'll go with seeds. In the third round, 1 team will be eliminated, in case of a tie the lowest seed will be dropped. So for this first round, we'll be making picks for which teams will advance to the next round of the WCHA tournament. All matchups are contests in which you'll have to pick a team, so there are SIX (6) total contests to choose for this weekend. In order to spice things up, and to ensure people choose differently from each other, I will be adding some BONUS points to picking teams that are lower in the rankings (a.k.a. you are rewarded for picking the correct under-dogs). You will also receive a BONUS point for picking a team that can get it done in only 2 games (rather than needing the 3rd game). Just to clarify, all of these BONUS points are only award IF your pick is the team that WINS it's contest this weekend! No BONUS points for losers!!Here is the scoring system I'll be using:Every Gimble Hockey player will pick 1 team to win for each of the 6 contests this weekend.Every correct pick will earn the Gimble Hockey player 1 points.Every wrong pick will earn the Gimble Hockey player 0 points. If you correctly pick a team who wins their round in only 2 games, you earn an extra +1 BONUS point. If you correctly pick a team who wins their round and they are the 7th, 8th, or 9th seed you earn an extra +1 BONUS points. If you correctly pick a team who wins their round and they are the 10th, 11th, or 12th seed you earn an extra +3 BONUS points. Some examples:If you pick the 2nd seed to beat the 11th seed, and they take 3 games to win the round, you will earn a total of 1 point. If you pick the 3rd seed to beat the 10th seed, and they win the round in only 2 games, you will earn a total of 2 points. If you pick the 8th seed to upset the 5th seed, and they take 3 games to win the round, you will earn a total of 2 points. If you pick the 12th seed to upset the 1st seed, and they win the round in only 2 games, you will earn a total of 5 points.Does that make sense? Here are the CONTESTS with their corresponding seeds in brackets before the team name:1) [12] Alaska-Anchorage at [1] St. Cloud State2) [11] Bemidji State at [1] Minnesota3) [10] Michigan Tech at [3] North Dakota4) [9] MN-Duluth at [4] Wisconsin5) [8] Colorado College at [4] Denver6) [7] Nebraska Omaha at [4] MN-State MankatoThe first games are at 7:05 Central Time, so have your picks in by then!! Remember, this week there are SIX (6) Contests!!!!! Pick one team for EVERY Contest!!
